Limerick AC County Cross Country U23 Novice Senior Results – Mens Seniors Team strike Gold

First up on Sunday was the novice 4k for woman. LAC had two representatives on the day.  Sandra Ryan was first home for the club in 16th position and Sanijta Zorge was 18th but was first home in the under 23 race. Well done to ladies.

The mens 6k novice race was won by Paul Fitzgerald.  Keith Daly was 3rd with Joe Coffee 4th Barney McCullock 5th Vincent O’Brien 6th and Mark Guerin 7th.  Also competing was Mike lynch, Daniel Gallagher, Neil O’Sullivan, Pa O’Riordan, Tony Donovan and Ray McInerney  all ran really well. Well done to all the guys.

County Cross Country Wins for U10 Boys and U14 Girls Teams

29 Juvenile athletes competed in excellent weather conditions in the Even Age County Cross Country Championships at Bilboa AC on Sunday. First up were the 8 strong

Girls U10 team which was led home by Rachel Shannon in an excellent 6th place finish with Meadhbh Hurley and Ellen Hosey also in the top 10. We also had strong runs from Leagh Moloney, Yanna Leahy, Aisling Mulrooney competing out of age and from Katie Taylor and Kate O’Neill. Their collective performance was good enough for team silver medals.

The U10 boys went one better with team gold medals, helped largely by a brilliant individual win by Luke Hession and third place finish by Daniel Walker. Other strong performances by Sean McHugo, Paudi Spratt and Tommy O’ Driscoll. There were also highly commendable runs by debutants Aaron O’Connor, Jack Doyle, Connor Gavan and Matthew Burke.

In the U12 girls section we had a win for Sarah Hosey with Emer Ryan and Fiona O’Connor finishing 4th and 6th respectively, well done girls. In the boys under 12 we had good runs from Fionn Mulrooney, Darragh Curtis and Cillian Lynch.

The U14 girls won the team event with a 1st place finish by Rachel Hosey, 3rd place by Caoimhe Ryan with Roisin O’Connor finishing 4th.
