National Juvenile(U9-11’s) Results.

Tullamore was the destination for the National Juvenile teams (U9-11’s) on Sat.24th July. These elite young stars did not disappoint.14 of these young athletes were our very own and very eager to return next year.


Girls U10’s :


Abby Yelverton ran a good run with a time of 10.13sec.

Aoife Murphy who had her best run to date with a time of 10.20sec.

Finishing 9th in the team event.


Orlaith Grimes also had her best run to date with a time of 1.40.75mins.

Rosie Hickey also had a great race with a time of 1.41.23mins.

Finishing 4th in the team event.


Abby Yelverton jumped 3.56m and Orlaith Grimes jumped 3.38m.

Both girls were in fine form jumping close to and beyond their best and received the Bronze Medal for their efforts.


Orlaith Grimes/Abby Yelverton/Rosie Hickey/Aoife Murphy/Ashlee Reddan/Meabh Kelly.

These girls reached the final coming 2nd in the heat and finishing 6th in the final.

Girls U11’s:


Róise Gavin/Maya Griffin/Ciara Flaherty/Aoife Grimes/Olivia Mc Carthy/Juliette Ferte.

These girls also got through to the final giving absolutely everything on the day and finishing 6th overall.

Boys U10’s:


Evan Boland/Eoin Williams/Cormac Devitt/Johnny Lynch/Óisin Connelly/Shane Collins.

These boys got through to the final and ran their legs off to take 3rd place overall.




Luke Calitz and Donnacha Donnelly both ran very strong races with times of 9.22sec and 9.67sec respectively,finishing 9th overall.


You should all be very proud of yourselves.

Limerick AC took a trip to ‘Costa del Cork’ on Sat 17th and Sun 18th,for the Munster Championship were the sunshine was a test for all athletes competing over the 2 days.

Well done to all our athletes that competed over the weekend and Dharma who came down after her exam only to miss her race by a few minutes(tough break!!).

Congratulations to Christian O’ Connell who took the U 18’s gold medal in the javelin with a great throw of 46.63m. With the leaving cert. over for Christian ,there is  now 2 reasons to celebrate!!

Well done to Cillian Lynch,who after stepping away from competition for awhile decided to test himself in the U14 800m. Cillian gave a strong run staying with the main group throughout the race not leaving much gaps between any of the athletes nearing the finish.

Ciara Grimes U 15’s and Makayla Ryan-Wade U 16’s both interested in testing themselves in the 200m ,gave strong runs and should be happy with their indivual performances.

Munster Senior & Masters T&F Championships results

Munster Senior & Masters T&F Championships, Sunday 11th June

Well done to Hilkka Kontro for coming in 2nd place in in the women’s 3000m run.

Alana Frattaroli won the Women’s shot putt 4K with her best throw 12.33m

Glody Swana came 6th in the men 200 metre sprint prelims that made him qualified for the finals and came 5th place

Colm Turner came 6th place in the men 5000 metre run


Gearoid Yelvertion came 3rd place in the M35 100 metre sprint who also came 5th in the M35 200 metre sprint & came 2nd in the M35 long jump

Keith Daly came 3rd in the M40 1500 metre run & 2nd in the M40 3000 metre run

Limerick A.C. Juveniles(U9-11’s) competed in the Munster T/F Championships in Ennis on Sat(3rd) and Sun(4th).

Well done to our athletes who got their first taste of the Munsters and handled their nerves very well and should be very proud of themselves.

Others with more experience,took what they learned from last year and put it in to practice and it was great to see what a difference a year makes in the juvenile world of athletics.

Senior Track & Field Championships 2017 Day 2

The final night of the 2017 T & F Championships in UL yesterday evening in ideal weather conditions.

Well done to Gearoid Yelvertion for coming 3rd place in both 100 meter dash & the long jump and Raymond Mcinerney for coming 2nd place in the 400 metre dash.
